To begin with, Splashup.com and Picnik have a lot of things in common and things not so much in common. First, Splashup is more powerful when it comes to changing the overall appearance, it can make a picture look so much different with tools like pix elating and inverting. Where as Picnik just kind of adds it and not so much changes. Some tools are the same between the two making it very easy when using the other if you have tried using Picnik or Splashup before. Splashup is more careful when editing, but Picnik can bring it back to the original position if you have done too much editing that you don't like. In addition, Picnik does make frames as Splashup does not.

To begin with, I started out with a picture of water, the one above to the left. I saved it as my before and went and experimented to edit this picture. Fist I went under tools and smudged. I mostly used the filters tab as I then used the following, sharpen, blur, pix-elate, clouds, invert, and gray-scale. Finally I used posterize and emboss. This gave me the after picture, the one on the right above.
Of the two photo editors that I have reviewed I think Splashup was the best because it allowed me to do more of what I wanted to do. Splashup can use tools better, add filters more efficiently and also can blend with other pictures. I had more fun using Splashup then Picnik but if the two were to have the same features as the other than that would be a tough one.
