To begin with, Splashup.com and Picnik have a lot of things in common and things not so much in common. First, Splashup is more powerful when it comes to changing the overall appearance, it can make a picture look so much different with tools like pix elating and inverting. Where as Picnik just kind of adds it and not so much changes. Some tools are the same between the two making it very easy when using the other if you have tried using Picnik or Splashup before. Splashup is more careful when editing, but Picnik can bring it back to the original position if you have done too much editing that you don't like. In addition,  Picnik does make frames as Splashup does not.

Before
After
To begin with, I started out with a picture of water, the one above to the left. I saved it as my before and went and experimented to edit this picture. Fist I went under tools and smudged. I mostly used the filters tab as I then used the following, sharpen, blur, pix-elate, clouds, invert, and gray-scale. Finally I used posterize and emboss. This gave me the after picture, the one on the right above.
Of the two photo editors that I have reviewed I think Splashup was the best because it allowed me to do more of what I wanted to do. Splashup can use tools better, add filters more efficiently and also can blend with other pictures. I had more fun using Splashup then Picnik but if the two were to have the same features as the other than that would be a tough one.

A Student Review of Picnik.com An Online Photo Editor

To begin with, Picnik.com allows you to edit pictures to your liking. In addition you can also create many styles and designs for your pictures. Furthermore this webware looks very nice and pops out at you. It is simple and very easy to use. Any one would have fun using it.

I started off by uploading a a picture of this giraffe on the left. I uploaded it to Picnik.com, from there I started to full around by clicking on the create panel which becomes available to you once you uploaded a photo. Additionally  in the create panel I went to stickers and added a mustache and a tear drop. Then I went to effects and clicked focal zoom and boost and finally doodled my final picture giving me my awesome giraffe.
Some features that impressed me the most were the fact that you can add stickers and what not. Second you can add effects like blurriness and black and white effects it is just really cool. It just helps me edit pictures better to my liking. Some things that could have made Picnik better was that some of the editing tools were premium but it didn't clearly show that it was. Maybe instead of leaving the premium things with the free tools they should have a panel that says premium. You can also share items that you make in Picnik by saving it to your account where many others can see. This webware is pretty easy to use after a few tries, the tools and everything else are pretty simple to use and understand. Furthermore, everything you need is just under the panels you would think to look and that is what helped me.
In this Review I found, the reviewer finds Picnik to be a very casual editing site. The reviewer also mentions that any one could access the site and edit their pictures and it is really easy and efficient. I also agree with the reviewer and find it to be quite convenient. Here is the review if you want to check it out for yourself. http://www.digicamhelp.com/processing-photos/basic-editing/picnik-review/
Over all I think this site is very well setup and efficient, I love Picnik. I give it a thumbs up for it being so amazingly simple and easy to use.
